The Viola Jewellery Collection

Our Viola collection is inspired by the Shakespeare character from Twelfth Night. Viola had a twin brother, Sebastian, who she believes to have drowned in a shipwreck after a storm, so she disguises herself as a man in order to gain employment. Later in the play Sebastian appears, having been rescued, and the pair's striking physical similarities cause no end of confusion when he becomes entangled in the love triangle which forms the central plot. The idea of twins is represented in the mount design, which uses two similarly shaped curving pieces of silver on either side of the central stone, one supporting the other.

The Viola collection is available with either blue topaz or amethyst gemstones, so you can choose the colour you prefer – blue to represent the sea which features in the Shakespeare play, or purple to represent the stormy clouds that lead to the shipwreck. Amethyst is the birthstone for February and topaz is the stone for December, so if either of these months happen to be your birthday that's your decision made! If you love this design, and who wouldn't, then why not get both sets so you can mix and match? The two colours are complementary and work well with the same outfits.

The earrings are set on a post mount but they hang down a little, adorning your earlobes in a very pretty way. The Viola necklace and ring are also delicate and the entire set can be worn as an ensemble to great effect without looking over the top. Ideal for work, casual socialising and more elegant events the Viola collection adds a touch of classic beauty to any outfit.

If you're looking for a Christmas gift for a Shakespeare fan any of the pieces from the Viola collection would be an ideal present, and you can gift more pieces for other occasions, such as Valentine's Day, a birthday or an anniversary.
