Jewellery Trends For 2022 – Part 2
Welcome back to our look at the jewellery trends for the coming year. We left off talking about tassels on the Charlotte Knowles runway, and our Tassel pearl necklace has matching earrings which look great worn as a duo for a fun but professional look. This is ideal for the office (real life or virtual) as pearls exude power and confidence, while the tassels add a youthful note. The movement of the tassel chains, finished with a cubic zirconia, looks great on camera and even better in person. If you only buy a couple of pieces this year, make sure it's these.
Large stones are most definitely in. The 2022 runways were awash with large stones in earrings, necklaces and rings – the bigger the better. Our Blue Lagoon and Lavender pieces feature topaz or amethysts cut in an emerald shape (rectangular) which is a bold and eye catching cut for any gemstone. If you prefer a different shape, opt for our Vivacious Violet collection which uses the square cushion cut shape. This year, more is more, so don't be afraid to wear all three pieces from the Lavender or Blue Lagoon collections (necklace, earrings and ring), or mix the Lavender and Vivacious Violet pieces for a more eclectic take.
Cocktail rings are in again, as they encompass the trend for large stones and the emerging trend for bright colours. The Purple Rain (amethyst) and Punch (amethyst and topaz) cocktail rings, with four large stones are perfect for 2022. If large stones really aren't your thing, the Rainbow cocktail ring is waiting for you. This bright, sparkly ring uses a mix of smaller coloured stones which couldn't be more on trend this year.
Casting our minds back to the 1990s and early 2000s we remember that colour was everywhere and only a few people persisted with the monochrome look. As we enter a year that should be a huge improvement on the last two, it's no wonder that bright colours are in to reflect the global mood. As colour is in again, experiment with mixing and clashing the colours in your clothes and jewellery – try mismatched earrings, or clashing a necklace with a top.
Bracelets and bangles are firmly in fashion again, but this time either go for a single piece around your wrist, or experiment with wearing bangles at different places on your arm. Upper arm cuffs were seen on many runways so do consider layering them over lightweight knits for an evening look, or on bare arms on those hot, sunny days we can't wait for. Pairs of arm cuffs were seen at Prada, so you know it's a trend that is really going places this year.
Our Bewitching and Enchanting bangles are perfect for the single bangle minimalist look, while our Fantasia pieces would work anywhere on the arm. Add the matching ring on the opposite hand to tie the look together. Our Twister bangle would also be a great choice for wearing higher up your arm as the gorgeous twist detail can really stand out.
Finally, statement earrings are back (if they ever really went out of style in the first place). Our Spicy Red, Blue and Opal collections have fantastic statement earrings with large stones which tap into two trends for 2022 daytime wear, but which will have a long life as evening pieces when fashions develop and change. The Clementine and Opaltine collections are also great choices for statement earrings with matching pieces.
We hope you're inspired to try out some of these trends, and that some of your older pieces will get a new life now that the fashions of two or three decades ago are back in the spotlight, just be ready for younger relatives to go green with envy at your impeccable style and “vintage” pieces.
