Summer Jewellery Trends Made Easy
After a wet and windy winter we are firmly in spring/summer mode and we are going to make the most of our time outdoors, whether we're on a family day out, having lunch with friends or just attending to everyday errands. One of the New Year's resolutions we know people make is to dress up more, wear more of their jewellery and stop saving things “for best”; so with that in mind it's time to break out your jewellery collection and see how you can wear some of this season's trends with ease.
Flowers are sent to be a big hit, and not just because they're in season. The catwalks were full of fabric flowers on chokers and blooms on barrettes and headbands; even earrings, belts and bags were seen adorned with flowers. Brooches were featured, mixing a modern take on the horticultural theme with a traditional piece of jewellery, so if you wanted to wear your grandmother's best brooch but haven't had the chance, spring and summer 2024 is the perfect time to air it.
Our Flora earrings are ideal for this flower power trend with their bold shape and youthful aesthetic. The Daisy collection also has perfect petals in a timeless cluster style that makes them the perfect heirloom or gift to pass on to your younger relatives.
Layered necklaces were another key trend on the catwalks, with Chanel and Burberry among the big names to follow the festival vibe. Our Wild Spirit necklace is ideal for this hippy aesthetic, so why not pair that with something floral, and something you haven't worn for years to create a really eclectic mix that screams festival season?
All our necklaces have an adjustable length chain, allowing you to layer away easily just by changing the fixing you use at the back. If you want to wear more Amore Argento pendants you can always put two on the same chain; a great look if you have the Daisy collection as you can wear the blue and green pendants next to each other. You could even put one of our pendants on a longer spare chain, then layer up some beads and other pieces for a really boho look.
The standout single earring trend is still big news, and has been for several seasons now. It's easier to wear this look in the summer months when a statement earring doesn't get swamped under knitwear, so if you still haven't tried it, make 2024 the year you do. This is a great way to wear those old favourites that have lost their partner, but which you couldn't bring yourself to throw out.
If you're self-conscious try this trend on holiday where no-one knows you, and be bold with your choice. If a single earring seems like too much, consider an unmatched pair. Perhaps one statement earring like our Meridian hoops, with a single cubic stud in the other lobe? Have a look through your solo earrings and see what stands out, or what finds a match.
Finally, chunky silver jewellery was a subtle yet noticeable theme with bulky bangles, bold earrings and heavy looking necklaces in many collections. Our Hollywood (clip on) and Simply Twinkly earrings are ideal for this trend, and if you were into the arm cuff look this is another chance to wear those pieces with pride.
Our jewellery is designed to be timeless, so whatever you buy from us to fit these trends will remain a favourite in your collection for many years to come, until it's coveted and borrowed by the younger generations, that is!
